Dear Unit Owner:
The Board of Directors has asked us to serve as Nominating Committee Co-Chairmen for the election scheduled to be held at the annual October 2010 Owners' Meeting (October 9, 2010). At that meeting you will be called on to elect a total of two members to the Board of Directors. Also, if you are in attendance, you may be asked to assist in conducting the election and counting the ballots.
Article IV, Section 8 of the By-Laws states that a unit owner may nominate himself/herself or any other unit owner for election to the Board of Directors. Only those nominations received at least 15 days before the Notice of Election shall be listed on the ballot. Nominations will be listed in alphabetical order with no indication of candidate preference. Nominations may also be made from the floor at the annual meeting.
The official notice of election will be mailed on September 09, 2010. Again, only those nominations received by August 25, 2010, will be listed on the ballot. A resume of the candidates will be included with the ballot. Placing your name or the name of another unit owner in nomination requires commitment that the nominee, if elected, will attend all regular and special meetings of the Board of Directors (approximately 12 per year) and will take responsibility for at least one (1) committee at the request of the President.
Please submit nominations and a brief nominee profile as soon as possible. A nomination form is being transmitted herewith or is available on our website at www.plazaoceancity.org for your convenience.
The annual meeting of the Plaza Condominium Council of Unit Owners is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2010, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 10301 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Maryland. Please note that this is the same location as last year's meeting.
